I have often seen a certain level of arrogance and entitlement exhibited by people in leadership positions that seek to tear people down instead of lift people up. Too many people feel that having a position of leadership and authority is their God-given right. They feel superior to those in their employ or at so-called lower levels in the organization.
Leaders don't strike people down with belittling comments and never intentionally try to place you in an embarrassing or demeaning position. They show a genuine interest in you personally and professionally by asking, "How are you?" or "How's your family?" while listening and expressing real concern for your situation.
How you treat people said a lot about you, and your leadership will be judged on how you inspire, influence, and motivate your people.
Absolutely Catherine, thanks for sharing.
This is true. I’ve always tried to help people. But lately I find I am less patient, when they refuse to see the Truth. But I’ve had to remind myself, to try have more patients. As I get older it seems, I just expect, certain things are obvious , that people see them. What’s sad is how blindfolded many go thru life. Just oblivious to their surroundings. But how we treat animals, our elderly & those less fortunate says it all.
